Delhiites today woke up to a cold morning with a thick blanket of dense fog disrupting the schedule of 35 flights and 42 north-bound trains.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.2 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year and 0.8 degrees more than yesterday's minimum.

The visibility at 5.30 AM was below 20 metres and at 8.30 AM, it was recorded below 50 metres. Due to dense fog, several vehicles on the roads moved with their headlights on.

Early morning fog disrupted rail services with the operations of 42 north-bound trains getting affected, said a Northern Railway official.

Also 35 flights were affected due to adverse weather conditions, airport authorities said.

The weatherman has predicted a clear day ahead.

"The day will be clear and the maximum is expected to hover at 15 degrees Celsius," an IMD official said.
