Thieves assault gas agency employee; staff demands arrest

The staff of a gas agency in Raya town here went on a strike today to demand the arrest of three youths who assaulted an employee and looted LPG cylinders and cash from a godown.

Three youths, all in the age group of 25 to 30, forcibly took away two LPG cylinders and Rs 2,000 cash after assaulting Indrajeet, posted at the godown of Indane gas agency, this morning, as per the FIR filed by manager of the agency Ganesh.

The accused have been identified as Devendra, Bholu and Roopa, police said.

SSP Akhilesh Kumar Meena has instructed to nab the culprits within 24 hours, they added.
 

LPG cylinders were not supplied today due to the protest. No cylinder will be supplied tomorrow as well owing it to be a weekly holiday for the employees, a trader said.
