Thieves steal computers, documents and cash from schools

Thieves broke into two schools in Howrah district and took away 27 computers, documents and Rs 3,500 in cash, police said today.

The incident happened at Gangadharpur under the jurisdiction of Panchla police station.

The schools, Gangadharpur Vidyamandir and Gangadharpur Balika Vidyamandir, are situated close to each other. The thieves have stolen 20 computers from the first school and seven computers from the second school, a police officer said.

They have also stolen important documents from both the schools and Rs 3,500 in cash from Gangadharpur Vidyamandir, the police officer said.

An investigation has been initiated, the officer added.
