Thieves strike at IB officer's house, steal booty worth Rs 35L

Thieves struck at the residence here of a Deputy Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) posted in Manipur and decamped with cash and jewellery worth around Rs 35 lakh, police said today.

The incident took place on Wednesday in New Delhi district's Tughlak Road area, police said.

The theft took place when the family of West Bengal-cadre IPS officer Rajesh Subarno was away to meet him in Imphal, where he is currently posted.

The matter came to light when their neighbours informed police after finding the lock of the main door of the house broken.
