Things have remained same even three years after Dec 16

Expressing sadness over things having remained almost the same since the December 16 gangrape incident, the DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal today urged Union Home Minister and Lt Governor to urgently convene the second meeting of state-level women safety panel.

"V sad on Nirbhaya' 3rd anniversary today. Delhi is continuing to have more n more Nirbhaya every day. Little has changed since Dec 16th 2012.

"On Nirbhaya Anniversary, I request Rajnath Singh ji n LG to hold 2nd meet of Women Safety Panel. Need to work together for rape free Del," Swati Maliwal tweeted.

Expressing anguish over rape incidents continuing unabated in the city, she said Delhi has become trafficking hub where people are not scared to commit crime and urged the Central and Delhi government, Lt Governor, Police and society to work together to improve the situation.
 

"Delhi become traffickin hub. Even 2 yr old girl being gangraped. Women n girls not safe on street, educational institution, workplace n home," she said.

"Only 9 convicted of crime against women in 2014 in Del! Shame. Ppl not scared to commit crime," she added.

She further called for utilisation of the 'Nirbhaya' Fund for setting up Forensic labs across the country.

"3000 cr Nirbhaya Fund unutilised in 3 year. WCD Min GOI says lack of innovative projects. Need Forensic lab across country-y not begin dere?," she tweeted.
