Schools without teachers is a common problem, but a government school here has a unique situation as it has four teachers but no students.

The two-room primacy school is situated at a crowded North Raj Mohalla in the heart of the city. However, no student has taken admission this year.

District Education Officer Anurag Jaiswal said these teachers could be transferred elsewhere.

"We are probing this issue and if needed, these teachers will be transferred to some other school," he said.

One of the teachers said last year, only eight students took admission. Four passed out and enrolled in the middle school for Class Vth, while four others opted for another primary school.
