Thoor dal price rises sharply

: Price of thoor dal increased while moong dal, wheat and sooji prices declined in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

After a day's holiday on Monday (for Republic day), thoor dal price was sharply up by Rs.400 per quintal to Rs.8,800 from its closing rate of Rs.8,400.

Moong dal declined by Rs.300 per quintal to Rs.10,200 from its previous rate of Rs.10,500.

At Rs.2,750 wheat was less by Rs.50 per quintal from its closing rate of Rs.2,800.

Sooji (90 kgs) decreased by Rs.100 to Rs.2,900 from Rs.3,000,its closing rate.

Urad dal (Rs.8,200),Gram dal (Rs.4,400),Sugar (Rs.3,000) and Maida(90kg) (Rs.2,500) ruled steady.
 

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri-commodities (in Rs per quintal, except where stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 8,800; Urad Dal Rs 8,200; Moong Dal Rs 10,200; Gram Dal Rs 4,400; Sugar Rs 3,000; Wheat Rs 2,750; Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,500 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 2,900.
