NCP president Sharad Pawar today said that NDA government's stand on the Gaza conflict was "unfortunate" as who attack and kill innocent people can't be our friend.

"The present government says both Israel and Palestine are our friends and we can't do much," Pawar said during an Iftaar party organised by him here this evening.

"Those who attack and kill innocent people can't be our friends," the NCP Chief said, adding India had always supported the Palestinian cause and the present government's changed stance was not good.

He said NCP will continue to demand a debate on Gaza conflict in the Parliament.

State chief of Samajwadi Party Abu Asim Azmi and cricketer Zaheer Khan too were present at the event, apart from senior NCP leaders.
