A day after she was laid to rest near the memorial site of her political mentor M G Ramachandran at Marina beach here, thousands of people from all over Tamil Nadu continued to make a beeline to the spot to pay homage to late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
Teary-eyed party cadres and public stood in long queues to pay their homage to their beloved "Amma".
Besides, a group of people tonsured their heads as a mark of love and affection to the late AIADMK supremo, in keeping with the customary practice of tonsuring head when a close member of the family dies.

Popular Tamil film actor Ajith Kumar who had gone overseas for shooting of his coming film paid his respects at the burial site soon after arriving in the city along with his actress-wife Shalini.
An emotional woman party cadre with a ring on her finger with a photograph of Jayalalithaa said "Amma" continues to live in the hearts of the public.
Some cadres also visited 'Veda Nilayam', the residence at Jayalalithaa at Poes Garden.
Some workers said they wished to see the residence of their favourite leader converted into a memorial as a mark of respect.
68-year-old Jayalalithaa, who died on Monday night, was laid to rest yesterday.
