"Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" has began casting for a young girl to play a character called Modesty in the film and the audition attracted about 20,000 hopefuls at London's Excel Centre.

Warner Bros is on the lookout for a young girl aged between eight to 12 to portray Modesty, described as "a haunted young girl with an inner strength and stillness" and "an ability to see deep into people and understand them", reported BBC.

"Fantastic Beasts", a prequel to the "Harry Potter" franchise, takes place 70 years prior to the Harry Potter saga.

It follows a magizoologist named Newt Scamander who attended Hogwarts and afterwards joined the Ministry of Magic in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.

In June, Eddie Redmayne was cast to play Newt Scamander and Katherine Waterston also joined as the female lead, a witch called Porpentina.

"Fantastic Beasts" will be directed by David Yates - who also helmed the last four "Harry Potter" films - and is set for a November 2016 release.
