Four persons, including a woman, have been arrested for allegedly murdering a 27-year-old man after he made sexual advances towards her, police said today.

According to police, the woman allegedly threatened the three other accused that if they did not kill the youth for having tried to enter into a physical relationship with her, she would implicate them all in a gangrape case.

The four accused were arrested today for allegedly stabbing Harrendra to death. The victim's body was found on February 19 in a drain near his house in the Sahibabad area here.

Apart from the woman, the other three accused arrested in the case have been identified as Tarun, Rahul and Tinku, all residents of Sahibabad.

Police said that the three male accused, all good friends of Harrendra, had gone with him for a party on the evening of February 18.

"After consuming alcohol together, Harrendra along with his three friends went to his neighbour Geeta's house where he allegedly made sexual advances towards her.

"But angered by his move, Geeta asked Tarun, Rahul and Tinku to murder Harrendra. She threatened that if they didn't kill him, she would implicate them in a false gangrape case," said Sahibabad SHO, Upendra Yadav.

Thus threatened, the trio, and Geeta, attacked Harrendra with knives. After Harrendra was killed, his body was thrown into a drain situated near his house, police said.

"We received information today that the four accused would gather near Bhojpur... A trap was laid and we arrested them. The accused have confessed to their crime," Yadav added.
