Retired Brigadier Arun Kasta, his son Lt Col Arjun Kasta and son-in-law Major Rahul Palak, all from Gurgaon, were sent to 14 days judicial custody by Duty Magistrate Jarnail Singh today after they were produced amid tight security.

The cause of the scuffle, that took place late on Friday night, was a "minor collision" between the vehicles of the couple and the army officers, police said.

The trio were booked under section 302 (murder) of the IPC and arrested yesterday on the complaint of the kin of the victim, Anil Kapoor (42). They claimed that Kapoor died after he was pushed by the officers, police said.

Kapoor and his friend Vinay Kumar, who were travelling in a car, intervened in the matter, police said, adding that the army officers, who were accompanied by two women, allegedly entered into a scuffle with Anil, who then fell on the ground.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital by some passersby where he was declared brought dead, police said.
