Uttar Pradesh police claimed to have busted a betting racket relating to IPL matches with the arrest of three persons in Shamli district, about 520 kms from here.
Acting on a tip-off, a shop in Verma was raided last night and three persons arrested while six others managed to escape, police said.
Rs 80,000 cash, mobile phones and a diary were seized from them, they said, adding during interrogation the trio admitted of betting in IPL and other matches last year also.
The arrest might have links with some others involved in similar racket in Delhi and Mumbai, police said.
