Three arrested for cyber crime

Three persons, including a girl, were today arrested from Dimna area here for alleged involvement in cyber crime, a senior police officer said.

Police arrested Kunal, who graduated from a local college here, his friend Sagar, who is doing his graduation from Indira Gandhi Open University and Neetu Kumari, a PG degree holder, for hacking into bank accounts and shopping online, City SP Karthik S told a press conference along with DySP (law and order) Kanhaiya Upadhyay.

The trio worked in a call centre here but left a few months back and got into hacking bank accounts, Karthik said.

Karthik said Kunal, Sagar and other gang members had taught Neetu how to hack into bank accounts, transact and shop online.
 

Police have recovered three laptops, sophisticated mobile handsets, 25 SIM cards and bank passbooks from Neetu, who used to earn 25 to 30 per cent as commission for each transaction and had accumulated Rs 4 lakh, he said.
