Three persons were arrested today for their alleged involvement in Indian Premier League betting racket from Kasba in southern part of the city, police said.
The trio was allegedly betting during the high profile match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians match yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, the police also seized two laptops and 11 mobile phones from the three who were staying at a rented house on Dr G S Bose Road in Kasba.
"We are investigating into their accounts and trying to ascertain whether there was any monetary transaction," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Praveen Tripathi told reporters.
They have been identified as Shamiul Akhtar, Inzamul Haque and Asadul Zamal -- all residents of Raghunathgunj in Murshidabad district.
