Police today arrested three people for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old student last week to extort money from his father and then murdering him, officials said.
Dheeraj Sharma, alias Tinku, Ankur Arora and Naresh, alias Neshu, were arrested in connection with the murder of Abhay Mahajan, whose body was found in a gunny bag from R S Pura on February 19, two days after he went missing from his house, a police spokesman said.
The official said Tinku had called the boy using a stolen SIM card, took him to the Gala Bana area and murdered him with a sharp-edged weapon.
Mahajan's father had lodged a complaint with police on February 18, stating that his son went missing a day earlier.
