Police arrested three persons on Wednesday for the alleged rape and abduction of a ten-year-old girl in a village in Odisha's Ganjam district three weeks ago.
Two motor-cycles used in the crime and some gold ornaments and other articles looted by the accused from the girl's house were also seized from the trio, Ganjam Superintendent of Police Brijesh Rai said.
The accused are aged between 19 and 20 years of age and hail from the same district, he said.
They had broken into the girl's house at Dhoyakana village on October 31 night to commit burglary when the family members were sleeping.
After committing burglary, they had allegedly abducted the minor daughter of the house owner and one of them raped her in a nearby area, while other two assisted him, the SP said.
They had also threatened the girl with a sharp weapon when she tried to cry out for help, the police said.
Her family members had rescued the traumatised girl, a student of Class IV, and got her admitted at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, the police added.
