Three persons were today arrested for allegedly killing a security guard who foiled their robbery attempt at offices of a multi-storied commercial building in the central part of the city last month, the police said.
Prime accused Ritesh Patel (27), a resident of Bihar's Jamnagar along with his cousin Rajiv Kumar (23) and Rahul Kumar (24) were arrested by a team of officers from the homicide department of the Kolkata Police who visited the state late last evening, they said.
"Our investigations revealed Ranjit was working for a private company in that building where from he was sacked for some reasons. The accused then planned to take revenge by robbing the office as well a few others in that building," a senior officer of the Kolkata Police said.

On the morning of December last, the body of middle-aged Ranjit Biswas was found by another security guard, who reported for duty in the building on Jogendra Kaviraj Row.
His wallet was found lying empty on the fifth floor, but his mobile phone could not be located.
The miscreants had put tapes on the CCTVs on the fifth floor of the building to avoid detection. Insiders said going by the mobile tower location of the accused trio, Kolkata Police nabbed them from Bihar.
