Three arrested with 11 stolen vehicles in UP

Three persons were today arrested and 11 vehicles recovered from their possession here, police said.

The vehicles were allegedly stolen from different areas of Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and were being taken to the neighbouring Meerut district for sale, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anant Dev Tiwari.

Those arrested have been identified as Pramod, resident of Sambhal district, Charanjeet, resident of Rampur, and Asif, resident of Meerut, police said.

Out of the 11 vehicles seized, seven were Mahindra Bolero SUVs of various models, he said.

An FIR has been registered under IPC sections 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) against the accused who have been sent to jail, Tiwari said.
