Three persons posing as patients allegedly looted a dentist and decamped with Rs 1.5 lakh, a gold chain and other valuables, police said today.

"The incident took place yesterday at dentist Dr Samar Jain's clinic-cum-residence here when the trio visited him in the garb of patients for some treatment. When Jain asked for fee, they took out a pistol and a knife and terrorised him," Industrial Area police station in-charge Rajesh Singh Chouhan said today.

As the doctor tried to escape from the spot, the miscreants pulled him back and beat him. They then took him to the first floor of the house and forced him to relinquish his gold chain and nearly Rs 1.5 lakh cash and other valuables that he had at home, he said.

The accused then fled the spot after tying the dentist with a rope and a shawl.

Later, Jain somehow managed to set himself free and informed about the incident to another doctor at the clinic, following which a case was lodged.

Further investigations are on in this regard.
