An alleged gang of robbers was busted with the arrest of three persons and the recovery of booty worth Rs 7 lakh from their possession here, police said today.

The arrest of the trio yesterday was for their alleged involvement in seven cases of robbery in the city's East sub division police station area, a police spokesman said.

He said that the seized items, including gold ornaments, were stolen by the gang which was active in the Channi Himmat and Bahu Fort areas of the city.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ravi Kumar alias Vicky, Salman Ahmed and Taj Masih, he added.

The gang used to scan the said localities for locked houses and would strike at night after a target was identified, police added.
