Three child labourers rescued in Indore

Three child labourers - including a girl - working at a tobacco packing unit here were today rescued, a labour department official said.

An NGO - Child Line - with the help of the officials of state labour department, women and child welfare department and police rescued the three children, all around 13 years ,working with a tobacco packing workshop at Sirpur area, Labour Department Inspector Manoj Mandloi said.

The owner of the workshop has been booked for violating Child Labour Act and investigations are underway, he said.

Mandloi said as of now the children have been handed over to Child Line.
 

District child welfare committee's members will contact and hold talks with their parents before handing over children to them, the officer said.
