Two boys and a two-year-old girl were killed today when a truck ran over them near village Fatiha in the district this morning, triggering protest by angry villagers who blocked the national highway forcing police to intervene.

According to police, a speeding truck ran over a motorbike on which the three were waiting to cross the road near village Fatiha, about 23 km from here, falling under Farah police station area.

All the three died on the spot, they said.

The deceased have been identified as Bharat (16), son of Gulab singh, Hem Singh (15) son of Ter Singh and two-year-old Madhu daughter of Kishan Singh, all residents of village Fatiha.

They had gone to get the medicine for Madhu from Farah town, police said.

Alleging a delay by police in reaching the accident spot, angry villagers then blocked national highway.

Later, the blockade was lifted after Deputy SP Ajai Pal Sharma reached the spot and assured the villagers that the truck driver would arrested.

The driver was later arrested, along with the truck, near Kirawali Agra, police said.
