Three girl students of a private college drowned while taking bath in the sea off Poompuhar coast in the district Wednesday, police said.
The students were sucked into the water by waves while they were bathing at an isolated stretch of the beach this morning.
Bodies are yet to be recovered, they said adding a case was registered.
