Three-day national council meeting of CPI begins

Debate on rising intolerance in the country, price hike, special status for Andhra Pradesh are some of the topics that would be deliberated in the national council meeting of Communist Party of India (CPI) that began here today.

Party national secretary Suravaram Sudhakarareddy inaugurated the meeting by hoisting the party flag at the CPI office here.

In these three days, activities of the NDA-led Central government, rising inflation, special status to AP, debate on intolerance in the country among other topics will be discussed.

As a part of the programme, a rally was also taken out in the afternoon.

CPI state secretary Narayana said discussions about strengthening the party in the new state, party strategies for the forthcoming state assembly elections in five states will also be discussed during the conference.
