The three-day Reunion of Madras Regiment began at the Madras Regimental Centre, Wellington near here, with a firm commitment to preserve the heritage and work towards growth of the Regiment.
All the Veterans, Serving Officers, Ex Servicemen, families and children participated in a heritage walk from Srinagesh Barracks to Thangaraj Stadium and undertook tree plantation on the opening day yesterday.
Special function was organised at the famous Shri Murugan Temple of the Centre where all ranks sought blessing and in the evening, the famous Military Band gave a scintillating performance in the historical Srinagesh barracks, an official release said today.
Colonel of the Regiment, Lt Gen Rajeev Chopra and many other senior serving officers and veterans laid the wreath and remembered the martyrs for the supreme sacrifice they made for our motherland, it said.
