Three dead, 7 injured as car hits motorbike

Three persons were killed and seven others were injured, two of them seriously, when a Tata Sumo ran into a motorcycle near Bhagi village under the jurisdiction of Deori police station in Gondia district today.

The mishap took place at around 11 am when a front wheel of the Sumo (MH 35/ M 674), heading to Deori from Davki, burst and it hit Hero Honda bike (MH 35/ Q 7477).

After hitting the bike, the Sumo overturned three times .

Motorcycle-rider Omraj Ramchand Dakhne (45), resident of Davki, and Sumo passengers Vacchla Shravan Raut (60), resident of Deori and Shanta Suraj Farde (45), resident of Davki, were killed on the spot, police said.
 

Among the injured, Muneshwar Nandlal Farde (14), and Indu Maraskolhe (20) suffered serious injuries and were shifted to a hospital here.

Radha Ramvilas Koram, Rukmini Ramvilas Koram, Kavita Rakesh Puram, Meera Dulichand Raut and Vinod Dulichand Raut escaped with minor injuries.

Omraj was going to Sakhritola village to participate in the tehsil level sports meet.

Inspector Rajendrakumar Tiwari of Deori police station is making further investigation.
