Three dead in separate mishaps in Odisha

Three persons including a woman were killed and another woman injured in separate mishaps in Odisha's Dhenkanal district today, police said.

While a 20-year-old youth, identified as Navesh Swain died due to a fall from the bike near Kauripal on National Highway-55, his mother Manju Swain sustained injuries. They fell from the bike due to a hole along the road, said police.

In another incident, One Milu Sahu, a street vendor died on the sopot at Tarava when an 11 KV electicity line snapped on him. Sahu's family members were given an ex-gratia of Rs 60,000 by electricity department following an agitation by the local people.
 

In yet another mishap, a woman died due to lightning at Gopalpur village under Gandia block. The woman was yet to be identified, said R K Dora, the SDPO of Dhenkanal Sadar.
