Three drown in J-K

Two minor boys and a labourer from Punjab drowned in Jhelum river in two separate incidents in Baramulla and Anantnag districts of Kashmir valley, police said today.

Two boys, aged six years, drowned while bathing in Jhelum river near their residence at Sheer colony in Sopore, 55 kms from here, in Baramulla of north Kashmir last evening, a police spokesman said.

He said efforts are on to recover the bodies of the boys - Sameer Ahmad Sheikh and Dawood Ahmad Sheikh.

Surinder Lal (22), a labourer from Punjab, drowned in Jhelum at Sangam, 40 kms from here, in Anantnag last evening, the spokesman said adding Lal was taking bath when he slipped and got drowned.
 

Police is on the job to fish out his body, he said.
