Three drug peddlers were arrested and 49 gram brown sugar, valued at Rs 15 lakh, were seized from them in the state capital, police said today.
Mohammed Isriel (50), Md Furkan Anasari (21) and Nitin Bhagatkar (28), all residents of Nagpur in Maharashtra, were allegedly carrying narcotic drugs in a car when they were intercepted at OCM Chowk late last evening, Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Shweta Sinha told reporters.
"The trio was bringing the contraband from Nagpur to deliver it to different places in Raipur," she said, adding they have been booked under the NDPS Act.
