Three fire incidents in Kashmir Valley

A cotton factory was gutted in fire and two other structures were today destroyed in separate fire incidents in Srinagar and Pulwama districts of Kashmir Valley, officials said.

Fire broke out in a cotton factory at industrial estate near HMT in the outskirts of the city, a spokesperson of the Fire and Emergency Services said.

Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot and the fire was put off. However, the factory suffered extensive damage in the incident, he said.

In another such incident in the city, fire broke out in the kitchen section of the government-run psychiatric hospital at Kathidarwaza in Rainawari area.
 

The fire was brought under control, he said.

He said fire also broke out in a government building near the Deputy Commissioners Office in Pulwama district town, 32 km from here.

Fire tenders are on the spot and efforts are on to control the fire, the spokesperson said.

There was no report of any casualty in the fire incidents, he said, adding, investigations are on to ascertain the cause of the fire.
