Three from Madhya Pradesh detained underr Goondas Act

Three persons hailing from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, who allegedly indulged in theft and robbery cases here, have been detained under Goondas act by the city police.

Murthuza Ali, R Kasim Ali and A Hypar Ali, were arrested here on charges of waylaying and robbing two persons of Rs 1,500 and a half sovereign gold ring, at knife point and lodged in the Central Jail here, a couple of days ago, police said.

Since all the accused were involved various theft cases, the city police commissioner, A K Vishwanathan ordered their detention under Goondas Act.

Accordingly, Murtaza Ali was lodged and detained under the act in the Central Jail here last night, while other two, being 20-years old, were sent to Juvenile Observation Home in Pudukkottai and were served the detention order on Mar two, they said.
