Three persons have been arrested today for allegedly electrocuting a tiger whose carcass was recovered at Harri village under Chourai forest range in this district.

"Carcass of the big cat was recovered yesterday from a deserted place in Harri village. Three persons were arrested in this connection today," C Tyagi, Chief Conservator of Forests here said.

It appears that poachers had laid live electric trap to kill wild boars but the tiger walked into it, he said, adding a veterinarian of Pench Tiger Reserve is examining it to see whether the body parts of the tiger are intact.

Pench Field Director S Sen said, "Our veterinarian has reached Harri village to conduct post-mortem of the tiger. We are not sure that it was of our park."

"After studying our trap cameras and checking the records, we would know whether the tiger was of our Reserve or from outside," Sen added.
