Three persons were arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing a man here, police said.

However, the main accused, identified as Sunil, is still at large, they added.

Sunil, along with his three friends, planned to kill Sanjay, a farmer, after the latter had an altercation with him over some issue, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said.

On August 16, when Sanjay was returning home in Roshanpur Salimabad village after attending a court hearing, the accused caught hold of him and strangled him with a rope, he said.

His body was recovered from a jungle in Khurampur village on August 17, Jadaun added.

The three were arrested at 6.30 am on Saturday from Kakda village following a tip-off, the SP said.

They have been identified as Sahdev, Rohit and Vikrant, he added.

During interrogation, they said Sunil had an altercation with Sanjay over some issue. Later, he along with them, planned to kill him, the SP said.

The trio confessed that they helped Sunil to strangle Sanjay and later dumped his body in the jungle, he said.

Efforts are on to nab Sunil, Jadaun said.
