Three persons were taken into custody for questioning on their involvement in killing and elephant and taking it tusks near Gudalur, some 100 kms from here today.
Based on information from the villagers, forest department officials carried out searches and nabbed the three Cherampadi on Tamil Nadu-Kerala Border and taken ito custdy for questioning.
Preliminary inquiry revealed the involvement of another three persons in the incident, department sources said.
