Three held for robbing man at gunpoint: Police

Three men, including the part-time driver of the complainant, were arrested for allegedly robbing him at gunpoint in the Jagatpuri area here, police said Monday.

The arrested accused were identified as Indal (29) and Ravinder (28) from Geeta Colony and Naveen Kasana, a resident of Jawli, Uttar Pradesh.

According to complainant Umesh Bansal, he was allegedly robbed by two motorcycle-borne men of Rs 2.7 lakh at gunpoint at Jagatpuri.

During the robbery, the miscreants had also opened fire at Bansal's servant, Ramsewak, who was accompanying him on his scooty, said Pankaj Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).

During investigation, several CCTVs cameras were scanned.

 

Later, the police received information that Bansal's part-time driver Indal had informed his accomplices that his employer was carrying money, Singh said.

Subsequently, Indal and Ravinder were arrested and they confessed that they had committed the crime with the help of Kasana, Shakil, Prabhot alias Sahib, Anil alias Annu and Ravinder alias Bablu.

Later, Kasana was also arrested, the DCP said.

One pistol with five live cartridges, two motorcycles and Rs 3.5 lakh in cash were seized from their possession, he added.
