The narcotics control bureau (NCB) today held three persons including a woman and seized 7.3 kg of charas, worth about Rs 35 lakh, in Naroda area here.

"Deepak Khatri, Gulam Mohammad and his wife Noor Bibi were caught today by the NCB in Naroda area," said Hariom Gandhi, zonal director of NCB in Gujarat.

The trio had brought the charas from Ajmer in Rajasthan, and were heading for Bharuch by a bus.

Khatri had been earlier jailed in six cases of drug dealing, Gandhi said.

Gulam Mohamad and his wife were local supplier and carrier of the contraband, he said.

This is the third major seizure of charas in the city in the last ten days. Earlier, NCB and the city crime branch had held two persons including a woman and seized 22 kg of charas.
