Three persons, including a woman, were arrested here with 9.5 kg charas, whose value in the international market is estimated at Rs 1 crore, officials said today.

Sleuths of the Ahmedabad Zonal Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) picked up Tabbasum Rajjak (38) when she was about to deliver the contraband to one Nasiruddin Sheikh (57) near a hotel on Relief Road in the city yesterday, Ahmedabad NCB zonal director Hari Om Gandhi said, adding that Sheikh was also held subsequently.

On leads provided by Rajjak, the NCB officials later nabbed one Hussain Mansuri from near APMC market in Juhapura area of the city.

"We found 7 kgs of charas from Rajjak's possession during the raid. After her arrest, she told us that out of the 7 kg charas, 2 kg was meant to be delivered to another drug supplier, Hussain Mansuri," said Gandhi.

He said Mansuri was carrying 2.5 kg of charas when he was picked up.

"In total, we have seized 9.5 kg of charas worth around Rs 1 crore. Primary investigation has revealed that Sheikh is a wholesale supplier while Mansuri used to sale the drugs to local peddlers. The women had acquired charas from her contacts in Mumbai. She used to travel between Ahmedabad and Mumbai frequently," said Gandhi.
