Three held with six country-made pistols in Maharashtra

Three persons were arrested for allegedly possessing six country-made pistols and nine cartridges in Panchavati here, police said today.

A trap was laid last night and Shaktisinh Rajput (26), Santosh Alhat (23) and Sunil Nathbhajan (25) were apprehended for possessing the pistols and cartridges from Hanumanwadi area, said Dinesh Bardekar, in-charge of Panchavati Police Station.

The trio had come to the area to sell the firearms there, he said.

A case under relevant sections of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act has been registered and investigations are on, the officer added.
