Police today claimed to have busted a gang of highway robbers, involved in robbing luxury cars, by arresting three of its members in Rajasthan's Alwar district.
The three accused identified as Imran, Saikul and Saddam, aged 25-25 years, were involved in robbing luxury cars on Jaipur-Delhi highway highway and admitted to have committed 12 such crimes in Rajasthan and Haryana, SP Alwar Vikas Kumar said.
"They were using jeeps fitted with red and blue beacons to stop their target vehicles," Kumar said, adding, that a car looted from a Delhi-based CA was also recovered from their possession.
The gang was mainly operating on Jaipur-Delhi highway and nearby areas, he said.
