One of the accused was arrested yesterday in connection with the offence.

The woman, a resident of Nagarsul village in Yeola taluka of Nashik district, was allegedly gang raped about a month back.

However, police allegedly did not file her complaint then, the victim claimed.

Later, the woman approached District Superintendent of Police Praveen Padval with her complaint following which one of the accused, Santosh Gandal, was arrested yesterday and remanded in police custody till February 4, police said.

Last month, the woman had gone to Nagardul sarpanch - Pramod Patil - with a request to resolve a family dispute.

Patil, along with the other two accused, including driver Kiran Tagade, assured her help and then took her to a lodge where they allegedly raped her, police said.

Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent of Police Sunil Kadasane told reporters today that they will take stern action against guilty and the policemen who refused to register the woman's complaint.
