Three injured in leopard attack in UP

Three persons were injured after they were attacked by a male leopard in Sidhauli area, a forest department officer said here today.

The incident occurred yesterday when the leopard strayed into Sariyaan village from the side of Sarain river from Dudhwa forest of Kheri district, Divisional Forest Officer AP Tripathi said.

He said that the villagers informed police and the department about the presence of the big cat after which a team from Lucknow Zoo was called.

Forest department and Lucknow zoo team carried joint combing operation that run for more than six hours and leopard was safely tranquilized, the DFO said.
 

He said that the leopard was male and about four to five years in age.

It was medically examined and left in forest range of Mailaani, Tripathi said.
