Three kg gold seized at Karipur airport

Three kilogrammes of gold, approximately valued at Rs one crore, were today seized in separate cases at the nearby Karipur International Airport.

In the first case, Air Customs Intelligence officials seized one kg gold from a passenger who arrived at the airport by an Air India Dubai-Kozhikode flight. The passenger had concealed the gold brought in the form of computer disc, officials said.

Officials seized two kg of gold from another passenger who arrived by a Saudi Airlines flight from Ras al Khaimah.The passenger had concealed the gold in the form of emergency lamp battery in his baggage, officials said.
