Police today arrested three armed persons in Vaishali district while they were allegedly trying to abduct a Muzaffarpur-based transporter and his father.
Based on a tip-off, the accused were arrested from Mahua More under Sadar police station area, Vaishali Superintendent of Police (SP) Suresh Prasad Chaudhary said.
"The kidnappers have been identified as Mohammad Yaseen, Lakshman Paswan and Vinod Kumar. They all are residents of Patepur under Mahua police station. They were trying to kidnap transporter Praveen Kumar and his father Hari Narayan and had plans to demand a ransom of Rs 50 lakh," Chaudhary said.
A country-made pistol, nine bullets and two stolen motorcycles were also seized from them.
