Three killed as car falls into canal in Raj

Three persons including two women were killed today after the car in which they were travelling plunged into a canal in Banswara district of Rajasthan, police said.

The incident happened when the car crossing the Mahi Canal bridge under Bhungra police station area lost control and fell into the canal with 20-feet deep water, they said.

Kachru (25), Lalita (24) and a girl also named Lalita (18) were on their way to attend a marriage function in Surapada in Banswara, police said.

"Before the rescue teams could get into action, all three drowned. Later, bodies inside the car were fished out with the help of a crane," SHO Sajjan Singh said.
 

"Bodies were sent for post mortem examination at MGS Hospital, Banswara before handing them over to family members," he said.
