Three killed as car overturns in Punjab

Three persons were killed and two others injured after their car overturned and fell into a roadside nullah near village Khangura today.

Madhu, her husband Gurpreet and Bahadur were killed as the driver lost control of the car on Mehtan-Mehli-Phagwara bypass, police said.

Madhu's eighteen month old daughter Guddu and car driver Sharanjit Singh were seriously injured in the road mishap.

Gupreet and others were on way to Dera Jaimal Singh, Radha Soami Satsang, Beas, about 45 km from Amritsar, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell into the nullah, police said.

Sharanjit was referred to PGIMER at Chandigarh.
 

Guddu was admitted to a private hospital here and later rushed to Jalandhar for treatment, they said.
