Three killed as train hits van at unmanned railway crossing

Three persons were today killed when a van crossing the railway tracks at an unmanned level crossing was hit by a train, about 30 km from here, in Odisha's Khurda district, railway sources said.

The van, in which the three persons were travelling, was hit by the Nagercoil-Shalimar (Kolkata) Gurudev Express between Khurda Road and Kaipada Road railway stations, they said.

The accident affected train services on the line on the busy Chennai-Howrah route for some time, they said.
