Three killed for 'practising witchcraft'

Three persons, including two women, who had been accused of "practising witchcraft", were killed in two incidents by unidentified people in Latehar district, a police official said here.

Unknown persons slit the throats of Pheku Nayak and his wife Asasthi Devi at Obara village today, Superintendent of Police Michael S Raj said.

An elderly woman, identified as Parwati Devi, was killed at Rakhat village yesterday.

All the killings were related to the belief that the victims practised witchcraft, the police officer said.
