Three killed, four injured in Kolkata fire

Three persons were killed and four other sustained serious burn injuries when a major fire engulfed a godown-cum-office complex in central Kolkata's Sealdah area early today, police said.

The fire was detected at 3.50 AM and the time victims were sleeping at that time, they said.

18 fire tenders fought the blaze for nearly three hours to bring it under control.

The injured were rushed to state-run NRS and Medical College hospitals, they said.

The cause of fire and the extent of damage are under investigation, police said, adding that a search is on to find out if anyone is trapped inside the complex.
