Three killed in as tractor-trolley overturns

Three devotees were killed and over 15 were injured when the tractor-trolley they were travelling in overturned in Jhonko village, the police said today.

The incident occurred late last night when the group of devotees was returning to Naugai village after taking darshan of the goddess at Lauwan Devi temple in neighbouring Sidhi district, Jiyawan police station in-charge Akhilesh Agnihotri said.

The deceased, including two women, are identified as Jagtaran Bai Rawat, (40), Butte Bai (45), and Sudhir (23).

"Out of the 15 injured persons, the condition of three persons is serious and they were referred to the district hospital at Singrauli, while the rest remain admitted in a hospital in Deosar," the officer said.
 

Police have registered a case against the driver of the tractor-trolley who fled the spot after the mishap.
